Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are determined to not spoiling their kids at Christmas time.
“So far, our tradition is no presents for the kids,” Kunis said, explaining that the rule came about after their children were spoiled with far too many gifts from their grandparents.
“We’re instituting it this year because when the kids are [younger than] one, it doesn’t really matter,” she said, adding that last year, when Wyatt was a toddler, it was all just “too much. We didn’t give her anything – it was the grandparents,” she said. “The kid no longer appreciates the one gift. They don’t even know what they’re expecting; they’re just expecting stuff.”
Mila and Ashton have “begged” their parents to stick to just one gift if they simply can’t help themselves. “Otherwise, we’d like to take a charitable donation, to the Children’s Hospital or a pet [or] whatever you want,” she said. “That’s our new tradition.”
“I’m a little bit less stressed over what to anticipate,” she said. “You’re still stressed out and there’s still the idea of the guilt of leaving your kids, but you know that they’ll be OK. Because I’ve already done it once and the kid doesn’t resent me, so I was like, ‘OK, I think I can do this.” The actress admitted: “I tried to be so perfect,” she recalled. “I literally drove myself crazy with my first kid.”
Mila’s latest movie – A Bad Moms Christmas, is set for release in Australian cinemas on 2 November
